About Me
Matt Ragen is a fine art photographer based in Seattle. His passion for photography started some forty years ago at the dawn of the personal computer area when there was no digital photography, no cell phones, and personal computers were rare. Matt's images are grounded in analog (film) photography with black and white prints created with traditional silver gelatin as well as alternative processes including bromoil, cyanotype and platinum/palladium. Digital photographs have their place in his heart as well and, recently, he has combined digital negatives with classic chemical processes in the darkroom.
Matt currently serves as the board chair for Photographic Center Northwest (PCNW) in Seattle - a non-profit educational institution dedicated to facilitating creation, conversations, and experiences around photography. PCNW offers computer labs and printers, a community darkroom, and a gallery space to highlight significant photography.
